Anklets
: The jeeher consisted of three gold rings worn on each ankle. The
choore were the two half circles made of gold, which were clasped round
the leg. Similarly, the doondnhee, mussowree and payil were all anklets
which had come in vogue at the time of Akbar. The ghunghroo were little
gold bells strung on silk thread and worn around the ankles. The baank
ornaments were meant for the top of the foot and were either square or
triangular. The beechheva were toe rings made of gold. Unwut was a ring
meant for the toe.
